The dismembered remains found stuffed inside singer D4vd’s abandoned Tesla have been officially identified as those of a teenage girl, Los Angeles authorities confirmed Tuesday, September 16.
Investigators revealed the victim, believed to be between 14 and 15, stood about 5-foot-2 and weighed just 71 pounds—alarmingly underweight for her age. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a tube top, a yellow bracelet, and stud earrings. A chilling detail: the word “Shhh…” tattooed on her right index finger.
Her body, partially decomposed and wrapped in plastic, had been hidden in the trunk of the Texas-plated Tesla for at least five days. Police were first alerted when neighbors complained of a “nauseating odor” seeping from the abandoned vehicle.
The luxury car was traced back to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The rising star, currently on his world tour, has been questioned by authorities but is reportedly cooperating. At the time of the discovery, Burke was preparing to perform in Minneapolis, still posting regularly to his two million Instagram followers.
But the gruesome link to the case has already devastated his career. Within days, Crocs and Hollister abruptly dropped him as the face of their “Dream Drop” campaign. Marketing images were released—but his likeness was scrubbed out.
For now, Burke has not been charged, but the disturbing find has cast a shadow over both his music and his future.
