The FBI has announced a reward of up to $100,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the gunman who fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, 31, was killed on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University, in what investigators are calling a targeted attack.
The reward announcement follows the release of photos of a person of interest in the case. The images show an individual described by the FBI as appearing to be of “college age,” wearing a hat, sunglasses, and an American flag T-shirt with an eagle emblem.
“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk,” the bureau stated on X (formerly Twitter).
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed at a Thursday morning press conference that authorities have obtained clear video footage of the suspect.
“If we’re unsuccessful in identifying them immediately, we will reach out for the public’s help and the media’s help in pushing those photos,” Mason said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
