Duchess Of Sussex Speaks Of ‘Magic’ After Prince Harry’s Visit With King Charles

Meghan Markle has shared a new photo and spoken of “magic” just hours after Prince Harry reunited with his father, King Charles, for the first time in 19 months.

While the Duke of Sussex made a brief visit to the UK to see the King, Meghan remained in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

On the Instagram page for her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, Meghan posted a serene image of herself gardening in a wide-brimmed straw hat. The caption read: “Harvest hues, golden views, and a season that feels like magic.”

Meghan captioned the post stating the season feels like

The Duchess officially launched her brand in April, offering products including jam, flower sprinkles, and rosé wine. Meghan has not been back to the UK since September 2022, when she and Harry stayed on to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral.

Her post came just as Harry’s meeting with King Charles drew headlines. The Duke arrived at Clarence House on Wednesday evening in a black Range Rover at 5:20 p.m. and left about an hour later.

When asked about his father at a later Invictus Games event, Harry simply replied: “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

Harry has not seen the King in more than a year. In a BBC America interview in May, he expressed his desire for reconciliation, saying: “I would love a reconciliation with my family.” He also revealed that his father had not been speaking to him due to an ongoing legal battle over his security arrangements, adding that he did not know “how much longer my father has.”

King Charles, who has been receiving cancer treatment since early 2024, traveled to London from Balmoral, where he had been spending his summer break.

Harry’s UK trip began on a poignant note. Shortly after arriving on Monday, he laid flowers at the resting place of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, to mark the third anniversary of her death.

Just a few miles away, Prince William honored the late Queen at an engagement with the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in Sunningdale, Berkshire.

Harry and Meghan stepped back as working royals in 2020. In the years since, the Duke has publicly criticized the monarchy in interviews, a Netflix docuseries, and his memoir Spare, making this reunion with the King particularly significant.
