Will Sean "Diddy" Combs Get A Favourable Mistrial Rule Today

Sean “Diddy” Combs faces a pivotal moment in his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial as the presiding judge is expected to rule on a mistrial motion on Tuesday, June 10.

The motion, filed by Combs’ defense team, challenges the credibility of key testimony presented by the prosecution.

Now in its 19th day, the trial took a dramatic turn over the weekend when Combs’ attorneys submitted new evidence that they claim undermines the testimony of singer Cassie Ventura. Ventura previously told the court she witnessed Combs holding Bryana Bongolan over a balcony.

However, defense lawyers introduced text messages Ventura sent to Kristina Khorram, a former Combs employee, that appear to contradict that account. In one message, Ventura reportedly wrote, “I just found out some crazy sh*,”* implying she learned of the incident secondhand, rather than witnessing it.

The defense also cast doubt on the timeline of the alleged event. Prosecutors submitted photos showing injuries sustained by Bongolan, with metadata indicating they were taken on September 26, 2016. Combs’ team insists the rapper was on the East Coast at the time—far from Los Angeles, where the incident is alleged to have occurred.

Judge Arun Subramanian addressed the motion briefly on Monday, stating he would rule on the matter Tuesday, after the prosecution files its formal response.

Meanwhile, proceedings continued with testimony from a key prosecution witness known only as “Jane”, a former girlfriend of Combs testifying under a pseudonym. This marks her third day on the stand. Her earlier testimony included graphic allegations of drug use, coercion, and complications from what she described as Combs’ orchestrated “freak-off” sex encounters.

This is the second time Combs’ legal team has called for a mistrial. A previous motion last month challenged the validity of fingerprint evidence tied to a separate investigation involving rapper Kid Cudi.

The upcoming ruling could significantly impact the trajectory of a case that has captivated national media and intensified scrutiny of Combs, whose empire has already begun to unravel under the weight of multiple lawsuits and public backlash.
