Footballer And Wife Stranded In Israel After Wedding Amid Iran Conflict

Tottenham Hotspur forward Manor Solomon and his new wife, Dana Voshina, are reportedly stranded in Israel following their wedding, as the country’s airspace remains closed amid escalating conflict with Iran.

Solomon, who spent last season on loan at Leeds United, recently returned to his home country to marry his long-time partner, Dana, with whom he has been in a relationship for seven years.

The couple celebrated their nuptials in a lavish ceremony at the Kahi Events Resort in Israel, surrounded by friends and family. Photos and videos from the joyful occasion were shared across social media.

However, just days after the celebration, the newlyweds found themselves unable to leave the country as civilian flights were suspended in response to Iranian missile and drone attacks on Israel. The airspace closure follows two nights of bombardment, prompting international travel warnings and grounding all outbound flights.

According to The Sun, Solomon and his wife are now stranded indefinitely, with no clear timeline for when flights will resume. The UK Foreign Office has issued a strong warning against all travel to Israel due to the heightened risk, stating that Israeli airspace “remains closed” and that ground transport may also be disrupted by the ongoing conflict.

Israel has faced increased security concerns since the October 7 Hamas attacks, with the Foreign Office advising against non-essential travel to large parts of the country over the past several months.

Manor Solomon, an Israeli international, joined Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal in 2023 after a loan spell at Fulham. During his loan with Leeds United last season, he notably scored the goal that sealed the club’s Championship title.

At present, Solomon and Voshina remain in Israel, awaiting updates on the reopening of air travel amid an increasingly tense regional situation.
