The Duchess Of Sussex Opens Up About Missing Prince Archie’s Milestone During New York Visit
Meghan Markle shared a heartfelt moment during her appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday, revealing her fear of missing a special milestone in her son Prince Archie’s life.
Meghan, 43, looked polished in a chic tan suit as she spoke about her five-year-old son, saying: “Archie is going to lose his first tooth this week, and I hope I can make it home in time for it!”
During the event, Meghan also offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her latest Netflix series, As Ever, explaining why it wasn’t filmed at her family’s Montecito home. “My kids come home for their nap, and having 80 people in the kitchen isn’t exactly the kind of childhood memory I want them to have,” she said with a smile.
Despite the whirlwind of public appearances and projects, Meghan described this moment in her life as her most joyful.
“This is the happiest I’ve ever been,” she said. “To have a partner and husband who is so supportive, and healthy kids who are thriving in the freedom and safety we’ve created — I’m just so grateful. Of everything that’s happened in my life, I never imagined I’d feel this content.”
Looking ahead, Meghan also spoke about the kind of role model she hopes to be for her children, Archie and Princess Lilibet.

“It’s important to raise a strong, confident daughter,” she said, “but it’s equally important to raise a son who is confident and respectful of the women around him. That matters just as much.”
Meghan was joined at the summit by fellow speakers and Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Ryan Reynolds. According to its organizers, the fifth annual TIME100 Summit brings together global leaders to explore solutions and inspire action for a better future.
The event precedes the 19th annual TIME100 Gala, set to be hosted by Snoop Dogg with performances by Ed Sheeran and Myles Smith. This year’s list of TIME’s most influential people includes Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Bell, Serena Williams, and Simone Biles.
Meghan and Prince Harry previously appeared on the cover of TIME in 2021, the same year they were named among the magazine’s 100 most influential people, following their high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey and decision to step back from royal duties.
