Man Arrested After Allegedly Running Over Four Months Pregnant Woman Expecting His Twins

A pregnant woman expecting twins is recovering after being struck by a vehicle while changing a tire—an incident that has now been linked to the father of her unborn children.

Authorities in Honolulu have confirmed that the driver of the car was 35-year-old Justin Ahkuoi, the father of the woman’s twins. He has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The event occurred on April 8, just before noon, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Honolulu District Court. Detective Dean Terakawa of the Honolulu Police Department stated that he responded to reports of a “possible domestic argument” and arrived at the scene to find the woman injured but conscious.

The victim, who is four months pregnant, told Officer Reggee Bailey that she had been changing a flat tire when Ahkuoi allegedly sped toward her and struck her with his car, sideswiping her on the left side. The impact caused her to spin and fall to the ground.

According to the complaint, the woman reported that after hitting her, Ahkuoi exited his vehicle and allegedly shouted, “F*** you,” adding that he had just killed their unborn twins.

A witness on the scene corroborated the victim’s account, prompting police to initiate charges against Ahkuoi.

Although a judge approved the criminal complaint on April 11, Ahkuoi was not arrested until April 21. He was officially charged with second-degree attempted murder and booked into the Oahu Community Correctional Center the following day. His bail has been set at $150,000.
