Psychiatrist says Britney Spears NOW needs a heavy medication amid her mood swing

Two and a half years after Britney Spears‘ notorious conservatorship came to an end, a noted Hollywood psychiatrist thinks she needs to put back into a new one.

What Happened to Britney Spears?

Dr. Charles Sophy has commented on the 42-year-old singer being ‘completely dysfunctional’ and is in serious danger of going broke.

Appearing on TMZ Live on Monday, Sophy explained that he wasn’t shocked to see the news about Spears at all, and thinks she needs to go into a conservatorship once again after she deleted her Instagram and re-activated it within the span of a day.

‘No, it doesn’t surprise me at all because the conservatorship was there for a reason, and even though, like you said, it might not have been with the right person, the actual process needs to be in place,’ Sophy said.

Why Britney Spears Need Conservatorship

‘When you have a mental illness of this degree, you need that kind of structure, supervision, and most importantly, to take your medication,’ Sophy said.

On February 1, 2008, Spears was entered into the conservatorship while her father, James “Jamie” Spears, and attorney Andrew M. Wallet, are placed as her conservators.

Why Britney Was Entered into the Conservatorship?

It happened after she refused to relinquish custody of her sons to ex Kevin Federline and she was committed to the psych ward of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Then, she continued to work and release albums throughout her time in the conservatorship, but she entered a psychiatric ward again in 2019 due to stress from her father Jamie’s near-fatal colon rupture.

What Prompted #FreeBritney Movement?

There were reports in 2019 that Spears was being held against her will in the conservatorship – that was allegedly supposed to end in 2009 – which gave way to the #FreeBritney movement and the conservatorship ending in November 2021.

Those 2019 reports also claimed that Britney hadn’t been taking her medication, with Brophy now claiming that he believes this latest situation with Spears is also because she isn’t taking her meds.

‘I think that’s probably what’s happened here. This is a no-medication situation,’ Sophy said, while explaining why he thinks that’s the case.

‘Well, because of the erratic behavior, the manic-y spending of money, recklessness, destroying people around her, no one can feel safe around her, no one can control her, she’s out of control, on many levels,’ Brophy said.

As it is now, many believe Britney is in, ‘serious danger’ both mentally and financially, claiming she has no supervision and has ‘shocking’ mood swings.
