The Swedish royal family added glamour to the Finland state banquet at Stockholm Palace on Tuesday, with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia playing hosts to President Alexander Stubb and his wife, First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb.

Princess Sofia, aged 39, impressed in a midnight blue lace gown by Oscar de la Renta and revealed a dramatic alteration to her wedding tiara.

The resplendent jewels now boasted new dark blue gemstone embellishments, likely sapphires, atop its diamond-adorned base, perfectly complementing the color of her attire.

These exquisite jewels were bestowed upon the royal as a wedding gift by her in-laws, King Carl XVI and Queen Silvia, in 2015. Sofia originally wore the tiara with emerald toppers on her wedding day, paired with an A-line gown with lace sleeves crafted by Ida Sjöstedt.

Known for its versatility, the tiara has undergone several transformations over the years. Two years after Sofia and Carl Philip’s wedding, she adorned it with new pearl toppers for the Nobel Prize banquet.

Subsequently, she showcased the tiara with its diamond setting alone, until 2019, when it was revamped with turquoise embellishments.

At the 2022 Nobel Prize banquet, Sofia captivated in a powder blue floral applique dress and introduced topaz gemstones to the tiara.

Last September, in honor of her father-in-law King Carl XVI’s Golden Jubilee, she introduced citrine toppers, showcasing yet another variation.

The evolution of Sofia’s tiara continues to captivate, leaving us eager to witness any future additions to her stunning collection!
