Lady Gabriella Kingston Returns To Kensington Palace After Her Husband Thomas' Passing

Reportedly, Lady Gabriella Kingston has returned to Kensington Palace to live with her parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, following the unexpected passing of her husband, Thomas Kingston, just two months ago.

The British writer, who celebrated her 43rd birthday this week, previously resided in Notting Hill with financier Thomas.

According to Richard Eden of The Daily Mail, friends have been offering support to Gabriella, also known as Ella, as she navigates through her grief.

Thomas, aged 45, was discovered deceased on 25 February at his parents’ residence in the Cotswolds. An inquiry at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court on 1 March revealed that he succumbed to a “catastrophic head injury,” with a firearm found nearby. His demise was deemed non-suspicious, and no external parties were implicated.

A private funeral service for Thomas took place at the Chapel Royal at St James’s in London on 12 March, attended by the Prince of Wales and other members of the royal family.

Earlier this week, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were seen leaving Oswald’s private members club. Prince Michael, aged 81, is a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The couple currently resides in Apartment 10 at Kensington Palace, having sold their Cotswolds property, Nether Lypiatt Manor, for a reported £11 million last summer.

In February, the Kents attended a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, just days after Thomas’ passing. Lady Gabriella, along with Thomas’ parents and sisters, paid homage to him in a joint statement, describing him as “an exceptional man who brightened the lives of all who knew him.”

The couple’s last public appearance together was on 14 February, joining Queen Camilla for a Shakespeare-themed event in London.

Lady Gabriella and Thomas were introduced by mutual acquaintances and were first seen together at Cheltenham Festival in 2015. Thomas proposed on the Isle of Sark in 2018, with their engagement officially announced by the palace a month later.

They exchanged vows on 18 May 2019 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, attended by the late Queen, Prince Philip, and Prince Harry, among others.

Thomas served as a director at Devonport Capital, specializing in financing companies in “frontier economies.” A graduate of Bristol University, he also worked in Baghdad, Iraq, with the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the Foreign Office, focusing on hostage release efforts.
