When Dyson released their Airwrap hair tool, the internet went into a frenzy, and since then, people have become obsessed with any unique gadget the brand unveils.

Now, it appears even royalty has taken notice, as keen-eyed royal enthusiasts may have spotted a particular TikTok-approved wellness hack in action at Buckingham Palace during a recent meeting between Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt and King Charles in the private audience room.

While it’s challenging to look past the patterned rug, striking artwork, and opulent gold-finished furniture, observant viewers would have noticed the Dyson Purifier positioned in the background of the room.

This viral product monitors air quality and claims to “automatically sense and remove pollutants as small as 0.1 microns, then project purified air throughout the room.” Depending on the model, some Dyson air purifiers can cost over £800.

According to The Times in 2023, the King has a preference for “teeth-chattering” temperatures at home and is committed to reducing the royal household’s energy consumption.

Thus, it’s fitting that Charles chose to install an air purifier, which can provide either hot or cold air, according to his preference. Over the years, the Private Audience Room at the palace has hosted a variety of notable figures, often at the behest of the late Queen, Charles’ mother.

Guests have included the Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, and Lord Rees of Ludlow, president of the Royal Society.

Despite Buckingham Palace being the residence most commonly associated with the King and Queen Camilla, they actually live at the picturesque Clarence House, where they have resided since 2003.

Metro reported that Charles chose not to reside at the Green Park-based palace due to its size, impersonal nature, and draughtiness. The palace boasts an impressive 775 rooms, including 19 state rooms, 52 bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices, and 78 bathrooms. Additionally, it features amenities such as a personal post office, jeweler’s workshop, swimming pool, cinema, and doctor’s surgery.

Buckingham Palace is undergoing extensive renovations

However, Buckingham Palace is currently undergoing extensive renovations to become the full-time residence of Their Majesties. The renovations are projected to take 10 years and cost an estimated £369 million.

In light of this, the cost of a Dyson air purifier, which amounts to a few hundred pounds, pales in comparison for the monarch.

While the term “royal renovations” might evoke images of gilded surfaces and extravagant furnishings in every nook, the actual changes being implemented are rather ordinary. These renovations encompass the installation of new lifts and the repair of aging electrical wiring, water pipes, and boilers to ensure the safety of visitors to the property.

With over 50,000 guests attending State Banquets, lunches, dinners, receptions, and Garden Parties at the Palace each year, not to mention the multitude of tourists who flock to the palace gates every summer, maintaining safety is paramount.
