Crown Prince Christian Reaches A New Milestone As He Is Captured Alongside Frederik And Margrethe In A Photo

The 18-year-old Crown Prince Christian has experienced significant milestones this year, and he recently reached another one.

According to the Danish palace, King Frederik and Queen Mary’s eldest son joined his father and grandmother, Queen Margrethe, who stepped down in January, for a private tour of the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle on Tuesday.

During the visit, Christian unveiled his Coat of Arms, which has been placed on the wall of the Chapel of the Royal Danish Orders of Knighthood in the palace’s church.

This event comes shortly after Queen Margrethe bestowed upon her grandson the Order of the Elephant – Denmark’s highest honor – on his 18th birthday on October 15, 2023.

Photographs shared by the Danish royal household depict the creation of the shield by royal coat of arms painter Ronny Skov Andersen. The process involves meticulous steps, including sketching the shield in pencil, transferring the design to a metal plate with chalk, and finishing it with paint in various colors, as well as gold leaf.

Christian publicly wore his Order of the Elephant insignia at the gala dinner celebrating his milestone birthday last October.

His younger siblings, 17-year-old Princess Isabella and 13-year-old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, also received the Order of the Elephant following their father Frederik’s ascension to the throne on January 14.

According to tradition, the Sovereign’s sons, and now daughters, are born members of the order, but they typically receive the order’s insignias on their respective 18th birthdays.
